It is important to dress properly for practice. Take a look at the weather conditions for your upcoming practice, to determine the proper clothing you should be wearing.
When the ORC has the Cold Water Rules in place (temperature of the water is 10 degrees celcius or colder), rowers and coxies must wear cold weather gear (long sleeve shirt, long tights, etc.).
Light and Whistle Required for all Practice Rows
All rowers and coxies rowing attending any practice are required to have a working light and whistle that is attached visibliy on themselves. It is required (i.e. mandatory) that the following light be purchased at the Ottawa Rowing Club, your local Canadian Tire (see store locator) or LeBaron(1512 Merivale Rd).

ORC Water Rules
It is important that all rowers row safely. In order to row safely on the Ottawa River, all rowers should be familiar with the Ottawa Rowing Club Safety Policy and the proper River Traffic Pattern.
